Fossils of Light + Time, curated and designed by Elizabeth Avedon, explores Moriyama's metaphor of photography as moments suspended between memory and the real. This limited-edition publication, now scarce, features work from forty international photographers whose evocative imagery expresses life's ephemeral unpredictability.
The publication includes contributions from notable photographers such as Hiroshi Watanabe, Traer Scott, Michael Kirchoff, Yukari Chikura, and Laurent Girard, among others. The cover photograph by Sean Perry—one of two included in the publication—transforms the luminous skeletal structure of 25 Cooper Square, NYC, into a meditation on impermanence and the transient nature of light.
Published by the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography, this limited edition of 250 copies is Smyth sewn, perfect bound, measures 12 × 8.75 inches, and features a foil-stamped cover. Elizabeth Avedon, independent curator and editor at L’Œil de la Photographie, juried this collection; her prestigious projects and publications include exhibition design for "Avedon: 1949–1979" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Richard Avedon's "In the American West" at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
This publication is sold out. I have a small number of copies available. Please contact me directly if interested.
